Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) & First Shipment Pipes for Karian Dam - Serpong Project (KSCS)
PT STEEL PIPE INDUSTRY OF INDONESIA Tbk (SPINDO) has carried out a series of Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and the first shipment of pipes for the Karian Dam - Serpong Project (Project Package 1 and Project Package 2).
All pipes for both project packages were
manufactured at SPINDO Unit 4 Pasuruan, and the first shipment was carried out simultaneously, marking the readiness of the products to support project implementation.
Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) Implementation
The FAT activities
commenced with witness destructive tests conducted in the laboratory and directly witnessed by representatives of the relevant parties. These tests were performed to ensure the quality of materials and the fabrication results of the pipes produced by SPINDO.
The tests conducted included:
- Tensile Test, to ensure the tensile strength of the pipe material,
- Chemical Test, to verify the chemical composition of the material,
- Guided Bend Test, to ensure weld quality and pipe flexibility.
The test results indicated that the pipes met the technical requirements in accordance with the project specifications.
Witness and Inspection at SPINDO Production Area
Following the laboratory stage, the activities continued with witness and direct inspections at the SPINDO Unit 4 Pasuruan production area, covering Buildings 2,3,4, and 5.
The observed processes included:
- Bare pipe production process,
- Hydrostatic test to ensure pressure resistance,
- Blasting process and application of 3LPE coating,
- Blasting process and application of internal coating
- Final inspection of bare pipes and coatings.
All stages were carried out in accordance with the applicable procedures and quality standards.
First Shipment for the Karian Dam - Serpong Water Conveyance System Project
Upon completion of the entire FAT and inspection process, SPINDO officially commenced the first shipment of pipes from Unit 4 Pasuruan for the Karian Dam - Serpong Water Conveyance System Project (Project Package 1 and Project Package 2).
This first shipment represents an important milestone, marking
SPINDO’s readiness to support the development of water infrastructure through the supply of high-quality steel pipes, while also reflecting strong synergy between the manufacturer, contractors, and all related stakeholders in ensuring smooth project execution.
