A BRIEF HISTORY

PT STEEL PIPE INDUSTRY OF INDONESIA Tbk (SPINDO) was established in 1971 in Surabaya. Its articles of association stipulate that SPINDO shall operate as a steel pipe manufacturer. The Company has since then grown as a steel manufacturer with the largest production capacity in Indonesia, bringing a wealth of industrial experience and producing a diverse range of steel pipes and tubes and other steelbased products.

SPINDO's product portfolio consists of a number of customized products, carbon steel pipes and stainless-steel pipe products. The Company's products are used for various industries, particularly construction, infrastructure, utilities, oil and gas, furniture, and automotive. In addition to producing various steel pipe products, SPINDO also offers services such as galvanizing, shearing, slitting, 3LPE coating, internal and external epoxy coating, cement lining and quality control testing conducted in the Company's modern laboratory.

Through a five-decade journey, we have managed to grow our business significantly. The Company's product and service absorption by the market has enabled us to continuously improve our product and service quality and productivity, as well as attain a number of certifications in recognition of our excellent product and service quality. In 1998, SPINDO embarked on a business expansion and merged with PT Radjin, allowing the Company to produce a wider variety of steel pipes. In 2005, the Company further expanded its business operations by building a production unit in Karawang that is equipped with the latest steel-pipe manufacturing technology.

SPINDO conducted an Initial Public Offering on 28 January 2013 as one of the key strategies to business expansion. On 22 February 2013, the Company was officially listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) as a public company named PT STEEL PIPE INDUSTRY OF INDONESIA Tbk. with the issuer code 'ISSP'.

The Company is determined to introduce new innovations and take advantage of investment, as well as increasing production capacity and efficiency, in order to maintain business sustainability. Our production units that are currently in operation are located in Surabaya (3), Sidoarjo (1), Pasuruan (1), Karawang (1), and Gresik (1). The Gresik production unit is also in a long-term development stage as it is armed with the latest automatic technology. Parallel to this, over the year 2024 we have built stock and sales warehouses across Indonesia's islands and provinces, i.e., Bandung (West Java); Pasuruan, Gresik and Sidoarjo (East Java); Jakarta; Samarinda (East Kalimantan), and Makassar (South Sulawesi), in an effort to expand the distribution network. SPINDO's seven manufacturing facilities have a total of 38 production lines, each of which can be calibrated to produce different types of pipes.

MILESTONE

1971

Began business as a foreign investment company incorporated in Indonesia under the name PT Steel Pipe Industry of Indonesia. [PT SPINDO].

1989

Ibnu Susanto, shareholders of “Perusahaan Dagang dan Industri PT Radjin” purchased all the issued shared in Kawasaki Steel Corporation & Itochu Corporation.

1991

Established Manufacturing Plant in Pasuruan to produce Spiral Submerged Arc Welded [SSAW].

1993

Transformed into a local Company.

1996

Obtained a certificate of API 5L from the American Petroleum Institute (API) for SSAW process.

1998

Merged with “Perusahaan Dagang dan Industri PT Radjin”; Retained the name of PT SPINDO. Established Manufacturing Plant in Karawang which produces mechanical pipes for automotive industries.

2005

Obtained a certification of API 5L 0475 for oil & gas industries in Indonesia.

2007

Obtained a certificate of ISO TS 16949 Quality Management System for automotive pipes in Karawang.

2010

Approved by Building and Construction Authority, a statutory board of Singapore Government for spiral steel pipes.

2011

Obtained a certificate of Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSAS).

2013

Initial Public Offering (IPO) of PT SPINDO on January 28th, 2013, The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place & Listing on February 22nd, 2013, Indonesian Stock Exchange, Jakarta.

2014

Implementation of SAP ECC 6 project for all business units. Plant Unit 6 has been running. Official opening of SPINDO Unit 5 – Karawang expansion plant.

2015

September 14, 2015, Analyst Meeting at Indonesia Stock Exchange Building, Jakarta. 14 December 2015, MOU signing ceremony between SPINDO, JFE Steel Corporation and Marubeni- Itochu Inc.

2017

November 30, 2017, Signing of Cooperation between SPINDO and Benxi Steel Group Co. Ltd.

2018

January 23, 2018, First export of UL(Underwiters Laboratory) Certified pipes to Canada and America.

2019

The opening of Samarinda Depot which serves variious types of standard pipes, SNI, and supplies plates and strip for customers who live in the East Kalimantan area. Launching digital channels on Instagram, LinkedIn, and Youtube Channel.

2020

Obtained ISO 14001, an international standard for environmental management system that ensures all the business processes and products produced by the COmpany have fulfilled its commitment to the environment.

Selected as the Best Issuer of 2020 for metal and cable sector out of 338 companies overall. The assesment was conducted based on eight criterias, namely:return, liquidity and stock volatility rate for 1 year(from 1 june 2019 up to 31 May 2020), sales growth rate for the last three years, Net Operating Margin, return on equity, assets turnover rate and operating revenue growth rate for the last three years.

2010
